I enjoyed this movie thoroughly :) I was.... what's the term? ...hypnotized. I went to the mall after a tiring day packing some stuff, getting ready to move to my new apartment, when I saw the poster. Curious about all the hype, (I don't watch movies in theaters, too much hassle) and after doing my own rendition of a Gollum-Sméagol, I decided to buy a ticket. (The poster was very appealing. I do love swords, shields and spears after all...)
300 is based on Frank Miller's graphic novel about the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae where 300 Spartans (blushes at the memory) go to war against an army of Persians. 300 is a good way to pass the time, quite entertaining actually: fast paced, high velocity blood and gore, cliché but inspiring narr
atives, soft-core erotica *winks* and adrenaline pumping music... from the opening all the way to the last frame! Its funny, I'm actually glad to have wasted my time on this one (figure that one out.) I mean, this is me, give me blood and bloody ashes fantasy any day and I'll appreciate it. After all, what's not to like? Awesome soundtrack, brilliant colors, nekkid men... *ear to ear grin* (although, I'd appreciate it more if the 300 had some color... yeah, a bit Hitlerish for me, not that I mind of course... they're HOT!!! :P) The cinematography made
me go "oooo...coool"(a reaction normally confined to opening credits on my ps2 games.) It is ALMOST a good substitute for my daily dose of anime, :) Although this one didn't really require me to think, which normally would've soured my mood (mindless bloodlust not my genre), but since I was tired, I was actually happy for the respite.
